The emPerform team is back in Canada after another great SHRM Conference and Expo. This year’s event took place June 16-18 in the beautiful City of Chicago, IL. As the largest event of its kind, SHRM is always a great chance to catch up with 14,000 of our closest HR Pros, Industry Experts, Partners, Customers, and other vendors.

This year emPerform once again participated in the Expo Hall – we gave out plenty of fine swag and gifts and were pleased to conduct many in-booth demonstrations to showcase how emPerform’s online offering can get companies up and running with powerful performance management in as little as one day. Our newest offerings: tag mobile for year-round feedback and integrated 360° reviews were very well received and we are happy that they are helping to make emPerform even more user friendly for managers and employees.

It was great to catch up with fantastic partners like myStaffingPro who recently announced an exciting alliance with Paychex and Marnie Green who was a speaker at the show and who recently published a very well written and practical book; Painless Performance Conversations: A Practical Approach to Difficult Day-to-Day Workplace Discussions. It was also great to meet with the team of fellow Canadians from HR.com.

A big thank you to all of our partners, customers, and prospects who stopped by during the show and to the wonderful City of Chicago for once again being a great host.

What we learned this year:

• It is always a good idea to wear proper footwear before venturing into the Expo Hall
• There is no such thing as too much Deep Dish pizza
• Enhancing performance evaluations with 360° feedback is a priority for many businesses
• When it comes to performance management software – accessibility, flexibility, and usability are key
